Call recording

On plans that include it, your radio system can record every call on every talkgroup, from radios and consoles.

As an admin, open System → Settings → Call recording, tick Record every call, and choose how many days to keep recordings, up to your plan’s limit. Calls shorter than a fifth of a second (accidental key-ups) aren’t kept. Recordings older than your chosen period are deleted automatically.

Dispatchers and above open the Recordings page:

  • Filter by talkgroup, or search by talker name or unit ID.
  • Press play to listen; it sounds like the console did live. Download saves a .wav file.
  • Older recordings loads the next page.

The console’s Recordings panel lists the latest calls for quick replay. Every playback is recorded in the audit log, with who played what.

Admins can delete a recording from the Recordings page. It’s gone for good, and the deletion is recorded in the audit log.

  • Turning recording off stops new recordings. Existing ones are kept until their period runs out.
  • If your plan changes to one that keeps recordings for less time, the shorter limit applies straight away. On a plan without recording, existing recordings are deleted.

Recordings are stored encrypted, separately from your system’s backups, so they survive the loss of a server.
