Agencies and channels
Three things decide which channels a radio has:
- Talkgroups are the channels people talk on, each with an ID, a name and a short alias shown on the radio.
- Zones are ordered lists of talkgroups, like the zones on a real radio. Channel up/down moves within a zone.
- Agencies (LSPD, BCSO, Fire…) each get a set of zones. A player’s radio is programmed with the zones of every agency they belong to. This set is the radio’s codeplug.
Edit all three in the web app under System. Changes reach connected radios straight away. The radio system only lets a radio use talkgroups in its codeplug, so a modified client can’t listen in on channels it wasn’t given.
Giving players agencies
Section titled “Giving players agencies”Players can get agencies in three ways, and get the agencies from all of them:
-
ACE permissions in
server.cfg. List the agencies the resource should check, then grant them with normal ACE groups:set meridian_agencies "lspd,bcso,sast,fire"add_ace group.lspd meridian.agency.lspd allowadd_principal identifier.license:xxxx group.lspd -
Jobs, if you use Qbox, QBCore or ESX. See Frameworks.
-
Discord roles in your community’s Discord server. See Discord roles.
Players with none of these get the default agency. Delete that agency to give them no radio channels at all.
History and restoring
Section titled “History and restoring”Every save is a revision. System → History shows who changed what and when, restores any earlier revision, and exports or imports the whole configuration as JSON. If a change removes a talkgroup a radio is using, the radio moves to another of its channels, and any call or emergency on the removed talkgroup ends.
Plan limits
Section titled “Plan limits”Your plan sets how many talkgroups you can create. The web app tells you if a change goes over it.
