Dispatch console
Dispatchers, admins and owners get a Console page in the web app. It runs in a desktop browser; no other software is needed.
Getting started
Section titled “Getting started”Each talkgroup is a tile showing live receive (green) and transmit (red) activity, the last talker, and how many radios are on it. Choose which tiles to show under Talkgroups. Click Enable audio once per visit, because browsers block sound until you interact with the page. Each tile has its own mute and volume, saved in your browser.
Talking
Section titled “Talking”Hold a tile’s PTT to talk on that talkgroup. To talk on several at once, select their tiles (click the headers) and hold the big PTT button or Space. The browser asks for microphone access the first time.
Consoles take the channel from radios, except during an emergency call, when you get “busy”.
Emergencies
Section titled “Emergencies”Active emergencies appear in the Emergencies panel. Acknowledge shows EMERG ACK on the radio; Clear ends the emergency.
Managing radios
Section titled “Managing radios”In the Units panel:
- Inhibit stops a radio from talking or hearing until you re-enable it, even if the player reconnects.
- Move… switches a radio to another talkgroup in its codeplug.
- Alert plays an alert tone on that radio.
Alert tones
Section titled “Alert tones”Choose a tone next to the big PTT button (Alert: three beeps, Priority: a warble, Page: two beeps), then press Alert selected for the selected tiles, or a tile’s own Alert. The tone plays on every radio on those talkgroups.
Recordings
Section titled “Recordings”If your community records calls, the console’s Recordings panel lists the latest ones for quick replay. See Call recording.
Every dispatch action is recorded in the audit log. Your plan sets how many consoles can be signed in at once.
